LearnCube Soporte Técnico Europa full_time 20 days

Tipo de trabajo: full_time Compañia: LearnCube

Headquarters: London
URL: https://www.learncube.com/

Call out to recent graduates with tutoring or teaching experience who want to transform online education.

This is a unique opportunity for:
  • A recent graduate with tutoring/teaching experience that is keen to kick-start their career starting in customer support; or
  • Someone with a passion for helping the world of education with a few years in customer support that is looking to work for a company they can really believe in and grow with.

LearnCube is on a mission to transform live online education across the globe. Through our award-winning online classroom, we help education entrepreneurs from the individual online tutor to some of the world’s largest tutoring companies, succeed online. We also have a special strength in online language education, where we work with iconic language education companies like Babbel. We're growing fast and need your help.

Are you reliable, super-organised and positive? Are you living in the UK or EU? Do you have some direct experience in teaching or online tutoring too (this helps just as much as customer support experience)?

About LearnCube’s Support:

LearnCube is a leading edtech SAAS provider.  Our Virtual Classroom and Online School platform makes it easy for language teachers and tutors to teach online professionally.

LearnCube’s customers are individual tutors, edupreneurs, online language schools and tutoring companies.

Support is provided via chat and email using Intercom. Support tickets will include requests for product information, sales/upgrade queries, problems/bugs experienced in a classroom, how-to’s and account/payment issues. Support documentation is published on our website via Intercom.

What you’ll do:
  • Use our ticketing system (Intercom) to assist our variety of customers with any help they need to use our products successfully.
  • Escalate issues that need help from another team member and keep tabs to make sure resolution is reached.
  • Self-manage our SLA’s and prioritise support for different levels of customers.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues, identify bugs, trends and areas for improvement.
  • Create and update any customer-facing support documentation.
  • Assist the Sales Team to onboard new customers using our Online School platform.
  • Be involved in pre-release QA to help test new features as well as document them to update customers.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve the Customer Support function in the business.
  • Keep up-to-date with best practices and implement improvements to always deliver high-quality support.

More about the role:
  • Initial 3-month fixed term contract (remote position) followed by full-time contract if it goes well.
  • This a remote position so there is no office. It would be a bonus if you are based in the UK or in the European Union where we have other team members. We'd possibly accept candidates from other countries in European timezones but you would have to really standout.
  • Market-related, competitive salary with a generous vacation policy.
  • Salary with company bonus.

Notes on the role:
  • This is a 'spring-board' position and customer support will give you a strong foundation to grow your career into a leadership role (Chief Customer Officer, Chief People Officer, etc) and pursue other fields of interest such as sales, customer success, business management, product management... especially if you're excited by edtech. We'll also provide further opportunities to move inside the organisation as we grow.
  • The reason we're more interested in candidates in UK or EU is that we have other team members living in UK/Europe and it would be a bonus if you could meet in-person for a catchup from time to time.

Criteria for a successful candidate:
  • A clear, friendly, upbeat, fluent-English writing style.
  • Demonstrate initiative; a self-starter with a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Ability to self-educate; we work remotely and you’ll need to be able to spend some time learning on your own. But still be able to speak up and ask for help, clarification or support when needed.
  • A curious mind that naturally troubleshoots problems with a knack for arriving at solutions and workarounds.
  • Single-minded about calming chaos, setting up and following good processes to deliver consistently great work.
  • Tech-savvy and familiarity with software tools - we use Intercom, Asana, GSuite, Slack daily (among others).
  • You'd connect with our customers more if you've come from a teaching or tutoring background, so please highlight this in your application.

Non-negotiables
  • Are you a team player and a good person? We have a strict no d***head policy.
  • Do you have a passion for education?
  • Are you fluent in spoken and written English? Note, you don’t have to be a perfect native speaker… in fact, that’s probably a positive :)
  • Do you already share our values: honesty, trust, grit, motivation, and energy?
  • Can you demonstrate strong skills in customer support and care, understanding how to work with people and getting them the help they need?
  • Can you provide evidence of at least 6-12 months of experience working at least 20 hours a week remotely?

LearnCube perks and path
  • Freedom to live wherever you like as long as you have reliable internet and a permanent residence located somewhere in UK/European timezones.
  • A clear career-path to lead the Support and Customer Success team as we grow.
  • We offer a supportive, safe and fun work environment. Whatever gender, race, sexuality, nationality, religion, education, languages or quirks you have (or don’t), we don’t mind. Just bring strong values of honesty, trust, grit, motivation, and energy.
  • Annual all-expenses-paid team trip to an exciting location in Europe (when the Covid-19 crisis is over).
  • We’ll provide a monthly contribution towards your home-office or favourite local co-working space.
  • Loads of opportunity for professional development.
  • Oh… and you’ll feel much more motivated knowing you’re changing the world for the better; improving both the access to and quality of education across the world.

Final words

Aside from the non-negotiables, please don’t worry if you can’t check absolutely every criteria above (you’re probably more awesome than you think).

We know some will try, but this isn’t a challenge on how to get to the CEO or make contact via our support or social media channels. Please follow this application process and spend time answering the following questions in the application form in order to be considered for the position.

  • What makes you excited about the prospect of working with LearnCube?
  • Tell us about a problem/inefficiency you noticed at work and what you did to solve it.
  • Tell us about a process that you implemented, why you created it and why you like it? What problem did it solve?
  • Tell us about your experience in customer support.
  • Tell us in a few sentences about your ideal (remote) work environment and where you'd like to live.
  • Tell us about any direct experience you have in tutoring or teaching (this is just as relevant as any customer support experience).

There’s a person we want to work with.

Thing is, we're not talking about someone specific. In fact, that’s the problem. We’re talking about a set of traits and an attitude, which is scarce! We want QA Engineers who see things differently;  that don't conform to the norm. You’re ready to get the job done, and even surprise us.

There are so many lousy job descriptions for engineers in the world, we’re writing down what we’re looking for in hopes that this person (you?) is out there:
  • You understand that communication is the biggest responsibility of your job, and the one you’re least likely to get right unless you focus on it
  • When you take on a task whether it’s huge and scary or tiny and boring, you’re going to see it through to the best of your ability
  • You focus on building tests for products that protect users and that matter to the company you’re building them for
  • You are confident with a number of programming languages and tools. You probably have one of each you prefer right now, but you’re neither dogmatic nor myopic in your focus on it

What we Expect from our QA Automation Engineer:
  • Work with the Product and Development  teams in developing a QA testing strategy for projects
  • Determining the appropriate balance of manual and automated tests, as well as the types of tests (UI, API, functional/performance/load, and so on)
  • Improve and build upon our test suite, test guidelines, and testing culture
  • Review and test your teammates’ pull requests

About you:
  • 3+ years of software testing & development experience including manual and automated testing of  web applications and APIs
  • Advanced problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with, and a strong understanding of Ruby on Rails and RSpec
  • Ability to manage tasks from assignment through to production
  • Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • You have remote communication and collaboration down to an art (chat, video, email, etc)
  • Experience improving test suite performance
  • A solid team player (we’re peers here, no egos, please), you highly value working with people you like and respect, you’re agile, humble,  trustworthy, and you’re comfortable working asynchronously, too
  • Accountable, you’re hungry to play an impactful role and not afraid to fail

At TaxJar,  we believe a  diverse team creates better solutions for our customers.  Read our Diversity statement below:

If you’d like to become part of the Kinsta family, hit apply or drop us a line, we’d love to talk to you!

Our client base is growing steadily and we’re looking for a competent Support Engineer with exceptional communication and technical skills who can provide enterprise level technical support to our customers via our live chat support system.

Support at Kinsta is not an afterthought; it is part of the Kinsta DNA and culture to provide world-class support to our customers.

As a Kinsta Support Engineer you will:
  • Take ownership of issues reported by customers and see problems through to resolution.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve customer issues.
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
  • Crave knowledge and continue to hone and improve your own technical and non-technical skills.
This role's shift need is Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm UTC (our team uses UTC for scheduling).

Requirements

The ideal Kinsta Support Engineer is technically-knowledgeable, upbeat, professional, curious, and self-motivated.

Excellent support is one of the cornerstones of our business, and we have the best support team in the business. Our clients have come to expect industry-leading support and it's our pleasure to deliver that to them. As a result, we're extremely careful about adding new Support Engineers to our team.

We hire Support Engineers with a variety of different backgrounds and expertise - some of us are Linux systems administrators, others have previously worked as WordPress developers, while others are technically-knowledgeable internet generalists who have mastered the art of customer service. The underlying shared background amongst us all is our passion for serving our customers.

All of our Support Engineers must meet the following core requirements:
  • Completely fluent in English with excellent written communication skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment interacting with multiple clients simultaneously while maintaining a professional and friendly tone.
  • A strong understanding of and experience with the following technologies: Linux, NGINX, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP, DNS, CDN, and caching (object and page).
  • Familiar with WordPress: database structure, file/directory structure, wp-config.php directives, and other common WordPress topics. Experience with WP-CLI preferred.
  • Consummate professionalism: we're a distributed team and we expect you to act like the professional we know you are. That means being a member of the Kinsta team requires excellent communication, rock-solid reliability, and the drive to bring your best effort to bear on your work every single day.
While a portion of our Support Team’s work certainly involves WordPress itself, our Scope of Support is centered around the LEMP stack as well as our hosting platform and environment. For this reason, system administration skills will take center stage during the majority of a Support Engineer’s daily activities.

Bonus points:
  • Completely fluent in a second language. Languages we're currently targeting include: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. If you are fluent in one of these languages or one not listed, please highlight this information when you apply!
  • Prior experience working with customers over live chat in a technical role in a fast-paced environment - particularly experience providing live support for web hosting built on a LEMP stack.

Benefits

This is a fully-remote role. The Support Engineer can work from anywhere with reliable broadband internet access and electrical infrastructure.

This position offers a great deal of flexibility, responsibility, and opportunity for growth for the right candidate.

We always use the latest version of everything: PHP 7.4, NGINX, Ubuntu 20.04, Linux containers, Google Cloud and more, so you’ll be able to work with a bunch of exciting technologies and use them every day!

User Interviews Programación 21 days

We're looking for someone who wants to be an early engineer at a rapidly growing, venture-backed company. “Rapid prototyping.” “Design sprints.” “User centric.” I’m sure you’re familiar with these terms. They’re supposed to help companies build things faster. The thing is: they don’t work if the user research process is too slow. We’re solving that problem.

We work in an adapted version of Basecamp's shape up where teams work on efforts in a fixed time / variable scope framework. Our PM/PD pairs split time between two engineering duos where each squad (PM, PD, and two engineers) work through what the solution will look like and how we can get there.

We do all our work in engineering duos. You and your partner in crime will figure out implementation details and attack the problem as you see fit. Everyone works on the full stack and contributes to every aspect of the product life cycle. We are always looking to add more people to teach and learn from as we build our team and product.

Our stack starts with Ruby on Rails with a Postgres database hosted on Heroku. We use Sidekiq with Redis for background job processing. Our front end is powered by React with simple ERB pages where appropriate. We are growing our home grown design system and use SASS to help manage our CSS. We leverage RSpec for unit testing our Rails app.

Churn Buster Programación 21 days

Compañia: Churn Buster

Headquarters: San Diego, CA
URL: https://churnbuster.io

~10% of recurring payments fail each month. For subscription companies, this can account for up to 50% of their churn. Basic “dunning” solutions are widely available, however, aren’t able to accommodate unique brands and business models.

Churn Buster is a premium dunning solution for unique brands and businesses.

Churn Buster integrates easily with any billing system via our API, and it’s even easier with our first class integrations for Stripe Billing, Braintree, and ReCharge/Shopify.

With this important role, you will be making it faster and easier to get started with new integrations, continuing to develop and maintain each one.

You’ll be working closely with our Senior Software Engineer, Scott Albertson, learning how Churn Buster works and can be improved.

About you

You’ve been working with Rails for years. You love how fast you can move with it, but you also know when to head in the opposite direction of the Rails way. Using POROs, Rails Engines, and event publication/subscribing doesn’t scare you, and you see the benefits when working with a large codebase.

At the same time, you know where to draw the line. Working for a small company, you know how important growth is, and you work to identify 80% solutions to close loops, and move on to the next challenging problem to solve.

You’ve worked heavily with APIs and Webhooks in the past. You understand idempotency, error handling, race conditions, and you’ve witnessed first-hand what can go wrong when careful planning doesn’t go into system architecture.

First thing in the morning, we have an asynchronous stand-up via Basecamp.
We usually summarize the previous day’s issues as well as tasks for the current day at the stand-up.
Everyone then works on their assignments during the day, and any other potential communication is carried on via Basecamp/Github/Calls. Nobody checks anybody as for when and how they work – only the results are important.
During the day and at the end of it, we commit the work in a standard way to Github where another developer always performs code review for you after you have completed a task.
Currently, we have 4-weeks long development cycles. The first week of the cycle is from a big part focused on planning and is, therefore, more meeting heavy than other weeks.

How to apply?
To apply for this position please send a short summary of your work experience and open-source activity or open projects, so don’t forget to add a link to your Github profile.

iPhone Photography School Diseño & UX/UI 21 days

Compañia: iPhone Photography School

Edit The Most Beautiful Videos You've Ever Created While Earning A Stable Full‑Time Salary
  • If you want to work on stunning videos that you're proud to show the world…
  • If you're ready to trade the uncertainty of freelance work for a stable long-term position...
  • If you want your videos to be seen by millions of people...
  • And if you want to do it all in the perfect work environment...

Then this job could literally change your life!

But only if you keep reading.

iPhone Photography School is the world’s leading mobile photography resource.

Selling instructional videos generates all our revenue, so our goal is to make our videos as beautiful as our photos.

We shoot our videos at amazing off-site locations and generate hours of stunning footage. We need your help to turn the footage we've shot into world-class online courses.

But what's in it for you? Why would you want to join us?

7 Reasons To Become A Full‑Time Video Editor At iPhone Photography School

1. Edit The Most Beautiful And Engaging Videos You've Ever Created

Most instructional videos are static, plain, and to be honest, poorly shot. But that’s not how we approach our videos.

Our goal is to produce engaging videos that are a pleasure to watch. Creating extremely beautiful and engaging video content is a key part of our company's strategy.

Sure, our videos have some talking head shots. But they also have plenty of stunning B-roll and are fun to watch.

What this means for you is that you'll get to edit videos where every frame looks like an outstanding photograph. And they will never be boring.

2. Get A Stable Income You Can Count On

If you’re like most video editors, you probably don’t enjoy looking for clients too much.

Even if it's just checking if your old client has some more video work for you (for the 100th time), this process is stressful and exhausting.

Besides, being a freelancer comes with huge uncertainty. Some months you get to work on projects you absolutely love. Other months you can be editing awful reality TV or boring corporate videos. And sometimes it can be a struggle to find any work at all.

Join our company, and you’ll get a competitive salary every single month. You’ll never have to look for new clients or side gigs again!

3. Millions Of People Will See Your Videos

Have you ever poured your heart and soul into a video that only a few hundred people will ever see... and even fewer people will care about? That can be crushing.

Fortunately, our videos reach a huge audience. Over the past 365 days, our videos have been viewed 25,007,433 times. And the reception of these videos has been outstanding.

Work with us, and millions of people will see and enjoy your work.

4. You'll Have The Perfect Tech And Software Setup

We understand that for you to be the best at your craft, you need the best tools.

We'll provide a fast and powerful computer, top-of-the-line monitors, and any software that makes your job easier.

Your work and time are valuable to us. This makes our investment in your tech a no-brainer for us.

5. Stay In Control Of Your Own Time

Many production teams like to set unrealistic deadlines for when the footage has to be edited and ready to go.

You're then forced to put in inhumanely long hours to meet the challenging deadline… Only for a new one to be set for the next task.

We don't work like that. We plan for reality, not fantasy. Besides, our video editors know everything they’ll have to do in any given week in advance. And we stick to our plans.

This means you can schedule your time however you want, as long as you get the job done.

6. Endless Opportunities To Grow

No one is born a great video editor. You got to where you are today by continuously learning, experimenting, and picking up tricks from the best in the business.

We understand how important growth is for video editors.

As an education company, we live and breathe learning. You'll be expected to spend paid time improving your skills and getting better at what you do. And we'll pay for online courses and books that will help you get better.

7. Brilliant Teammates

We know that talented people like you want to work with other highly talented people.

Our videographers are top-notch, our on-camera talent is world class, and you'll be working alongside other magician video editors.

Our team has some of the most inspiring people you've ever met. But it won't be easy to get in. On average, we only accept 1 out of every 500 applicants for any position at our company.

Can you make it past our selection?

Here’s What We Expect From You
  • You have significant experience editing videos professionally
  • You’re extremely proficient with Da Vinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Avid
  • You’re great at color correction and editing sound
  • You're organized and pay close attention to detail
  • You have a fast and stable internet connection of at least 100 Mbps

This is a full-time position. You can do this job from anywhere in the world – including your home, our beautiful office in Riga, Latvia, or any paradise location.

If you delay submitting your application, someone else will be hired before you.

But more fundamentally, we make it a core responsibility of every team member to do what they can to help the rest of the team improve. Aptitude for this responsibility is something we are especially focused on when hiring.

  • Excellent written communications, and a willingness to use them to document your work as necessary.
  • The ability to operate semi-autonomously, sorting your own immediate priorities out of the ever-shifting needs of a startup environment servicing direct development projects driven by customer requirements.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take initiative and ownership over starting and building out departmental strategy

Do you have the ability to create beautiful, user-friendly designs using only the power of your mind¹? Would you like to use your creativity to save baby animals, fight wildfires, and contribute to social justice²? If yes³, you have clicked on the right job posting.

A Bit About Us

We’re a digital marketing agency that works exclusively with organizations who have a purpose beyond profit. We use the web to make the world a better place.

We’re a tight-knit team, and everyone works remotely. Our team is spread across the United States, in Europe, South America, and Asia. We value an ownership mentality, we’ve got each other’s backs, and we pride ourselves on our company culture. We don’t micromanage, and we’re always looking for ways to do things better.

But enough about us, let’s talk about you!

Your New Job

You’ll work with other designers, developers, project managers, strategists, copywriters, and whoever else we can find, gathering their insight, feedback and knowledge, to create things that look spectacular, inspire users, and drive action. Often, you’ll be doing wireframes, moodboards or mockups for websites or web apps, but logo design, branding, icons, annual reports, and anything else that needs to look good are fair game, too. In other words, you need to have an excellent eye for web layouts, but also be versatile enough to handle anything else that comes up.

Typically, you’ll be working on multiple projects at once, so you’ll need to be able to switch gears quickly, juggle multiple deadlines, and be accountable for your own work. Since we’re a small team, sometimes you may need to do some a bit of light front-end dev, too.

What It’ll Take

This list doesn’t cover every trait or skill you’ll need to succeed, so we encourage you to use your aforementioned mind powers to fill in the blanks.
  • An excellent eye and instinct for design
  • A portfolio that shows a proven track record of design work that looks good and sparks action
  • A strong understanding of design and usability best practices
  • Experience with UI/UX design, logo/identity design, and graphic design
  • Strong ability with layout design tools like Figma, Sketch, or XD, as well as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • The ability to move fast, and consistently tap into your creativity under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Experience creating wireframes, moodboards, and design concepts
  • Comfortability with HTML, CSS and a general understanding of other technologies like Javascript and PHP
  • Experience working with WordPress, particularly with visual page builders like Beaver Builder or Elementor
  • Bonus: Experience presenting design concepts to clients, and providing feedback, guidance and leadership to other designers and team members
  • More Bonus: Video editing and animation experience
This is not an entry level position. Ideally, you’ll have spent time working at an agency, or running your own freelance business. In terms of years of experience, we’re looking for more than 5, but less than 500.

A Few More Reasons You Might Want to Work With Us

A flexible work schedule. Unlimited vacation. Competitive pay. Participation in our annual shutdown (two weeks off, sometimes more, at the end of the year). Also, we celebrate major holidays by not working. Most importantly, you’ll be working on projects that really matter.

We welcome applicants from around the world, but you have to be willing to work hours that have some overlap with normal business hours in at least one of the US time zones.

Please include a link to your portfolio with your application.

¹ And eyes, hands, and design software.

² And help connect cancer patients with treatment, send kids to college, make knowledge more accessible, collect blood donations, provide life-changing dental work, feed the hungry, and lots and lots of other good stuff.
³ If no, we told you to get out of here, Kenneth.

We’re searching for a front-end web developer who wants to build pixel-perfect layouts (often in WordPress) that help make the world a better place.

A Bit About Us

We’re a digital marketing agency that works exclusively with organizations who have a purpose beyond profit.

We’re a tight-knit team, and everyone works remotely. Our team is located all over the United States, and in Europe, South America, and Asia. We value an ownership mentality, we’ve got each other’s backs, and we pride ourselves on our company culture. We don’t micromanage, and we’re always looking for ways to do things better.

But enough about us, let’s talk about you!

The Position

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll work closely with designers, other developers, project managers, and strategists, to build neat stuff (lots of WordPress websites, but sometimes other things) for our clients and for ourselves. You’ll set up installs, write code, customize themes, set up custom post types, page builders, launch sites, and everything in between. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to project strategy, help create reusable codebases, and teach (and learn from) your team members.

Generally, you’ll be working on at least a few “big” projects at once, and also pitching in with other odds and ends as they arise.

Skills“R”Us

Here’s some of the stuff you’ll need to know/be able to do/enjoy:

  • Extensive knowledge of WordPress. The easy parts and hard parts.
  • Strong ability with HTML5 & CSS3. Clean, fast code should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  • Experience with PHP and Javascript, particularly as they pertain to WordPress.
  • Deep knowledge of popular WordPress page builders, particularly Beaver Builder and Elementor, to build dynamic layouts and integrate them with custom post types and custom fields.
  • A general technical knowledge of SEO, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • You should have a minimum of a few years of experience. We want someone who has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of front end development and knows how to tell them apart.
  • A decent eye for UI/UX best practices. You won’t be designing, but sometimes you might have to “wing it” and do something like laying out a form or setting up a mega menu that isn’t super confusing.
  • Bonus: Experience working at an agency, or running your own freelance website business.
  • Extra Bonus: Experience with other non-WordPress content management systems, Javascript frameworks, and covert underwater demolition.

Some Pretty Neat Things About Working Here

A flexible work schedule. Unlimited vacation. Competitive pay. Participation in our annual shutdown (two weeks off, sometimes more, at the end of the year). Also, we celebrate most major holidays by not working. Most importantly, you’ll be working on projects that really matter.

We welcome applicants from around the world, but you have to be willing to work hours that have some overlap with normal business hours in at least one of the US time zones.

Please include a link to your portfolio with your application.

We’re looking for a multi-talented, many-hat-wearing digital octopus* to help us build incredible websites (and lots of other things) for our clients, to make a positive impact on the world.

Role Overview

You’ll be working mostly in WordPress, and mostly creating websites and web apps. Sometimes you’ll design, sometimes you’ll develop (front-end), sometimes you’ll do both. You should be comfortable with everything that falls under that umbrella: Wireframes, design mockups, writing code, creating custom post types, configuring page builders, capturing dark wizards, launching sites, and all the odds and ends that come in between.

You’ll interact everyday with our project managers, strategists, other designers, developers, and anyone else involved in bringing an idea to life. You’ll almost always be working on at least a few projects at once, sometimes in different capacities.

We promise to itch both sides of your brain.

Possess (these traits) for Success

While this list isn’t entirely comprehensive, these things are pretty important to us.
  • You should know WordPress like the back of your hand. And the front of your hand. And the gap between your fingers.
  • An excellent eye for visual design, and a great instinct for UI and UX best practices
  • Experience designing responsive websites using industry-standard design tools (Figma, Sketch, XD, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of HTML & CSS, and best practices
  • Working knowledge of PHP, Javascript, particularly as it pertains to WordPress
  • Familiarity with responsive frameworks, like Bootstrap
  • Experience working with popular WordPress page builders, particularly Beaver Builder and Elementor
  • Bonus: Experience with other content management systems, Javascript frameworks, gremlins, app design
This isn’t a junior position. We need someone who knows what they’re doing, is able to work independently, take responsibility, and solve problems (even super weird ones). In terms of years of experience, we’re looking for more than 5, but less than 500. Even better if at least some of those years were at an agency, or running your own freelance business.

Benefits of Working With Us

A flexible work schedule. Unlimited vacation. Competitive pay. Participation in our annual shutdown (two weeks off, sometimes more, at the end of the year). Also, we celebrate major holidays by not working. Most importantly, you’ll be working on projects that really matter.

We welcome applicants from around the world, but you have to be willing to work hours that have at least a partial overlap with normal business hours in at least one of the US time zones.

Please include a link to your portfolio with your application.

You know how no one picks up the phone these days?

Or when you call someone and the voicemail says, “Don’t leave me a voicemail. Just text me.”

See, that’s the problem businesses face everyday when trying to reach their leads, customers, and clients.

They’re stuck doing things the old way (calling, voice-mailing, emailing) and getting old school results.

We win together, not apart.Okay, with that out of the way, let’s get into what this role will look like for you…

// HOW WE WORK //---------------------

This is how we do it...

// WHO IS THIS FOR? //---------------------

1. You Thrive By Helping Others

You truly have to enjoy speaking with people and working with them intelligently. In fact, you get joy by helping them get the result they want. And if you can’t help them or our product doesn't serve them - you're completely honest and transparent with them, “this isn't a good fit for you and here’s why...”

2. You’re Inquisitive.

You like to figure out how and why things work. In other words, you’re a lover of product and have a burning need to understand the products nuances so you can speak intelligently about it rather than a word bumbler.

3. You Take Initiative.

You are the type that finds things that need improvement and you take action. Like I mentioned before, “you’ll be wearing lots of hats” so if you’re the type that's waiting for me or someone else to tell you what to do, please don’t apply.

4. You Are Goal & Results Oriented.

Like, you actually set goals and create a plan to achieve them. Not like a new years resolution that feels great for 27 hours then you quit. You set out to produce real results and outcomes that are tied to a big fat hairy audacious goal.

Aka: You get things done and you love the rush of accomplishment.

5. You Enjoy Working Remotely.

To succeed in this position, you’ve been working from home. With COVID and everything happening, you'll need a quiet environment to get focused work done.

6. You’re Hungry To Grow.

It’s true. We’re a fast growing company, but if you’re not interesting in growing, then we can’t serve you. In this growth oriented role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a larger role to potentially lead a team. We want to help grow as much as you want the company to grow

Still here?

Good.

So there you have it.

Are you a match? Do you want a REAL challenge?

Then, I think you know what to do next.

- Chris, CEO

P.S. We don't have all of the answers.

We're doing the best we can day after day with pure passion to create something meaningful.

If you're okay with bruises, cuts by a thousand knives, and more good days mixed with bad days as we grow and scale "as a team" - then, this might be right for you.

Aha! Programación 23 days

Compañia: Aha!

Headquarters: Americas
URL: https://www.aha.io/

Aha! engineering is a mid-sized, fully remote team. We are centered around North American time zones so we can collaborate during the workday.

Our core values
  • The Responsive Method: These 8 principles drive how we operate Aha! and serve customers and employees.
  • Moving quickly: We ship code multiple times a day. We believe in getting new features in front of customers and iteratively improving as we learn what works and what does not.
  • Product over process: We want our engineers to have the time and focus to solve complex challenges. We aim to minimize the overhead introduced by heavyweight processes and excessive meetings.
  • Collaboration: We each bring unique experiences and skills to the table. Working together to share that knowledge benefits the entire team and helps us produce the best results for our customers.

Who we're looking for

We believe that being a kind person who elevates the rest of the team is just as valuable as writing great code. We look for strong problem-solving skills and experience working on important functionality for a cloud-based product. We need people who are humble, eager to learn, and always willing to help others learn as well. We want to work with people who enjoy picking up a problem and solving it, regardless of the technologies and techniques involved.

The Aha! security team is part of the engineering team and is product focused. As a Senior Security Engineer, you can expect to spend the majority of your time working with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript code for security reviews, investigations, updates, and implementing security features.

Our technology

Our sole product is the Aha! web application. It is a single-instance, multi-tenant Ruby on Rails monolith supported by Postgres (database), Redis (background jobs), and memcached (Rails caching). We also run a Node.js webserver to support collaborative editing and real-time updates. Our application is hosted on Amazon Web Services and architected with ECS for reproducibility and scalability.

We use React for rich client-side experiences on the front end. Some of the features we have built with React include:
  • Our fully collaborative text editor: Supports multiple cursors and simultaneous editing by any number of users. We also published a blog post explaining the underlying technology.
  • Our presentation editor: Allows users to create presentations with slide themes, shapes, text, and embedded Aha! reports (which update live so the presentation is always current).
  • Our Gantt chart: Supports scaling and scrolling to change the timeline, drag-and-drop, and quick actions to create records or sort the bars.

We embrace new technologies that help us deliver a lovable product, but we also remain cognizant of the maintenance overhead that a new library or platform brings. We solve the problems in front of us, rather than prematurely optimizing to address issues that may never materialize.

We do most of our collaboration and planning in Aha! itself, which we find especially rewarding. We also utilize GitHub, Slack, and GoToMeeting for video calls.

What you’ll be doing

We maintain security controls and perform security reviews on a broad range of features across the full stack. Your work will include:
  • Security code reviews that go above and beyond what can be found through scanning tools (which we use too!)
  • Cloud and network security reviews of Amazon Web Services infrastructure that is implemented via infrastructure as code
  • Monitoring third-party dependency vulnerability reports and applying fixes and mitigations
  • Sharing security findings and new developments internally for ongoing education
  • Participating in security monitoring, incident response, and investigations

If this sounds appealing, we would love to hear from you. A real human reviews every application, so please use the form to help us learn more about you.
