Product Design Lead

Ingles 9 days

Headquarters: New York
URL: http://www.float.com

About the Role

We are looking to hire a Product Design Lead. You’ll be responsible for designing Float’s user experience across our family of products, leading with our desktop application and mobile apps. To achieve this, you’ll partner closely with two seasoned Product Managers, a team of talented Engineers, and our CEO. You’ll have a solid foundation to build on, with an existing Style Guide crafted over several years, Sketch files and a library of past and current designs. You’ll consider this a starting point, not a constraint to our future design direction.

Partnering with our Marketing Lead, you’ll lead the direction of our marketing asset design and supporting collateral. It’s from this work, that you’ll start to shape and refine the Float Brand Guide. You may decide this is an ongoing iterative process, or at some stage, a rebrand is in order - these will be your decisions to make. We release features every 6 week cycle, followed by a 2-week planning and catch up cycle. During these phases our Product Managers will provide you with feature briefs and collaborate early on, ideating during our discovery phases and building a case for your design choices with supporting data. You’ll ensure your concepts are seen through to execution, providing feedback and continuing to tighten up concepts during development.

Last but not least, you’ll drive Product Design innovation at Float, carving out opportunities to experiment with new tools and design approaches, ensuring we’re at the forefront when it comes to faster and more visual ways, for teams to plan time.

This role does not have a Management component. You’ll have the opportunity to scale the Product Design team as Float continues to grow.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with experience designing desktop user experiences at scale. You’ve been doing just this for at least five years, in companies that are either SaaS, B2B-focused or in the consumer productivity space.

You can demonstrate how you’ve made customers more productive by your design decisions - whether it be visualizing complex data sets, or simplifying typically convoluted workflows. You delight in the details, able to impress a creative customer base, that for us, including more than 3,000 agencies and studios across the globe. Above all, you love the craft of design, preferring few meetings, allowing for long stretches dedicated to the work. You spend most of your time in Sketch or Figma (We use Sketch today, but are open to either). You may have some coding experience to demonstrate interactions, but this isn’t mandatory - we have folks on the team that can help.

You possess excellent writing skills, comfortable communicating ideas in a predominantly asynchronous environment. When required, you’ll jump on a Zoom to help convey or workshop an idea more effectively.
Perhaps you’re currently part of a larger team within an established SaaS and are looking for an opportunity to carve your own path, and have a greater impact on a growing team and an industry-leading product.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is US $120-$140K. Compensation is benchmarked using 50th percentile San Francisco market salaries, with a cost-of-living index applied to your location. We assess your level during the interview process. If you are outside the US, you’ll be hired as a Contractor. We have a range of expanding and improving perks that you’ll have access to including:
  • Home office expense budget: We help you kickstart or upgrade your home office setup.
  • Co-working expense budget: A budget for when you'd like to work out of home.
  • Annual team meetup: We get together as a full team every year, the last two were in Athens and Lisbon. We will continue this tradition when the time is right.
  • Care for your community. Two days a year for you to support with your time, or donate with your wage, for a local charity of your choosing.
  • Team liquidity pool: Rewarding our team if there's ever an exit

If you’re in the US, we pay 50% of your medical, dental & vision coverage, including partners and children. We encourage people of different locations, backgrounds and perspectives. Due to the specific requirements of the role, we’re looking for someone with at least two hours cross-over with Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

About the Process

Post will be open until January 29th. We will be in touch with eligible candidates starting Monday, 18th January with a view to secure a start-date to kick off in February 2021.

For more information on our interview process and what it’s like to join our global team, visit our Float careers page.

For the best advice on submitting a successful application, check out our CEO’s post on top tips for applying for a role at Float.

We appreciate the time and energy that goes into crafting a job application, unfortunately, we are unable to provide individual feedback during the application stage due to the volume of applications we receive.

Senior Javascript Engineer

Ingles 9 days

Headquarters: The Internet
URL: https://www.knack.com/

Hi, thanks for reading about our Senior Javascript Engineer opportunity! We're glad you're here.

We're Knack, a no-code productivity platform that’s redefining how work gets done. Knack is used by thousands of customers — from non-profits to the world’s biggest organizations — to run processes, departments, and even entire companies.

We need a brilliant javascript engineer to help us meet the enormous challenges around managing complex data with speed, reliability, and security.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just just an expert in Node and Javascript, but who also cares deeply about code quality and architecture, and enjoys diving into the deep end of challenging work.

And did I mention we're looking for someone who is self-motivated and independent? This is a 100% remote role, with a flat culture that gives you the autonomy to define how you can do the best work of your career.

In this role, you will:
  • Use your JavaScript and Node expertise to secure, optimize, and extend the Knack API.
  • Help solve data-driven problems like caching, version control, batch processing, and real-time concurrency.
  • Leverage your experience building software products at scale to help apply best practices to an extremely challenging problem space.
  • Propose and implement architectural approaches for new features and refactoring legacy code.
  • Improve the quality and confidence of a complex codebase with tests, audits, and performance metrics.
  • Be an inspiring and supportive teammate by participating in PR reviews, pair programming, active feedback, idea generation, teaching, learning, and in general being a delightful human being.

We’re looking for someone who is:
  • A problem solver. You aren't afraid to go deep, experiment, learn on the fly, and do the work.
  • Experienced as a meaningful contributor to a data-driven architecture at scale.
  • Passionate about quality. You do things right the first time by thinking deeply about quality, soliciting feedback, and being test-driven.
  • Humble but opinionated. You have lots of ideas, yet you are happy to shift directions when a better path emerges. You take your work much more seriously than you take yourself.
  • An active collaborator. You want feedback on your work early and often, and you get a kick out of a collaborative process because it challenges you to do better work.
  • Engaging beyond 1s and 0s. You understand that empathizing with our customers, building relationships with your co-workers, and going deep on the product makes you a better teammate and a better engineer.
  • Hungry for meaningful work, and space to do it. Knack is a complex product in a complex space and the work is extremely challenging - but also deeply rewarding. Knack makes a major impact in the work of thousands of companies and organizations.

Our Stack
  • Backend - JavaScript, Node, ES6
  • Data - Both SQL and NoSQL, Postgres, Mongo, Redis, Solr, ElasticSearch
  • DevOps & Deployment - All things AWS, Jenkins, Github
  • Testing - Cypress, Ghost Inspector, Mocha
  • Frontend - Vue.js, Webpack, SCSS

About Knack
Knack makes it easy for anyone to build applications and workflows to make their data useful. Our customers use Knack to run their processes, departments, or even their entire companies.

We've been growing steadily since 2012 as we’ve built our team, perfected our product, and nailed our product-market fit.

So how are we different?
  • We’re bootstrapped: we’ve had to build something our customers actually pay for. This changes how you do things.
  • We’re 100% remote: and have been from the beginning. Every decision we’ve made has been based around optimizing our remote operations.
  • We’re all a little weird: and we like it that way. We’re more than just chat avatars; we’ve all gotten to know each other, have grown together, and love working with each other.
  • We enjoy the journey: we’re in this for the long haul. We’re not chasing an exit or the next round of funding. We’re building something we’re proud of and want to keep improving on.
  • We work out loud: we’re a flat and autonomous culture that demands superb communication, transparency, and consensus.

Benefits & Perks
The biggest benefit is getting to work alongside our awesome team of Knacksters. We’re a funny, humble, talented team of delightful human beings that above all enjoy working with each other, growing with each other, and supporting each other.

These benefits aren't that bad either, though:
  • Define your work: find the location, environment, and schedule that is best for your life and work. It’s not about separation, it’s about optimization. Our only rule is an overlap zone of 11am to 4pm EST.
  • Unlimited Paid Vacation: take the time you need to stay motivated, charged, and balanced. You’ll get required days off for birthdays and knackiversaries.
  • Paid Corporate Retreats: we get together twice a year at amazing locations to do normal human being things in person. We pay for your flight, lodging, and meals.
  • HealthCare: we offer health, vision, and dental, covering 75% of the premium for you and your dependents (spouse + children).
  • Family support: we offer a generous paid family leave to welcome any new additions to your family.
  • Tech: we provide a top-of-the-line PC or MacBook
We are also passionate about learning and professional development. We provide multiple learning opportunities and encourage each other to continuously learn and grow:
  • Long term growth and learning plans, with regular check-ins to help you level up on what's important to you.
  • Have executive-level visibility into how the company is run and performing, including revenue.
  • Use an annual allowance to stay on top of your game with training, classes, books, and workshops.
  • Attend industry conferences that are meaningful to you.

Diversity
We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what makes a company flourish. Knack welcomes all applicants regardless of race, gender, orientation, sexual identity, economic class, ability, disability, age, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, or status. We’re proud to be an inclusive company with values grounded in equality and ethics, where we embrace diversity.

How To Apply
Are you currently so excited to apply that you can barely type? Then we want to hear from you!

We review applications in batches, so don't worry if you don't hear from us right away. Qualified candidates will move on to video interviews to discuss the position in detail, meet the team, and talk through the fit. We're also big believers in paid trials whenever logistically possible.

Please note that we can currently only accept applications from those qualified to work in the US.

For brands, we enable them to connect and distribute content directly to the retailers that stock their products around the world. There's a direct communication channel to frontline staff and they get real time feedback through detailed analytics.

For retailers, we integrate a combination of external supplier content with internal "tribal knowledge" to ensure that frontline staff have access to the right information, at exactly the right time, to help drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

We have a fast-growing network global customers, including some of the world's leading retailers and brands such as Nike, Gibson Guitars, Bayer, Unilever, Giant Bikes and Garmin... to name a few.

Our Values
We believe teamwork is a craft and we strive to master it. We win as a team of teams. We win and we celebrate together. We lose and we learn together. Just like we tell our customers, we work better together too! Value 1 - One Team Wins

Myagi has a coaching culture. It’s everyone’s job to help each other improve through deliberate feedback. Everyone has the responsibility to practice what they learn from their coaches at work and we invest in continually improving as a team. Value 2 - Everyone a coach, every one a player

We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere in the business and so from our graduates to the CEO and leadership team, everyone has a voice and they are all equally valid. But you have to speak up and be passionate about your view to ensure your message gets through. Value 3 - Respectfully Noisy

Passion is everything to us because we care about the customers we build products for, the teammates we work with and the partners we rely on. We hold each other to account and we take initiative. Value 4 - Give a Shit

Sr. Fullstack Software Engineer(Node, Typescript)

Ingles 10 days

Headquarters: Salt Lake City, UT
URL: https://chghealthcare.com/

Healthcare’s helping hand.

COVID-19 precaution: Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, our hiring process will now be completely virtual. All interviews will be held online or over the phone. We remain committed to putting our people, customers, and communities first and appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this.

CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.

Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding.

The (quality) doctor is in.

Modio has streamlined the convoluted and messy process that is healthcare credentialing and saved countless years of manual and error-prone work in the process. As part of CHG Healthcare we are working to drastically improve the speed (and quality) of credentialing to ensure that our doctors can spend more time treating (millions) of patients each year and less time dealing with credentialing headaches.

Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding.

Your role:

Our Carbon platform is used to standardize healthcare credentialing data from hundreds of disparate and non-standardized data sources across the deep web. Your role as a senior engineer on the Carbon team spans many different technical disciplines, but the overarching goals are straightforward:

  1. Use automation to detect and fix broken data integrations.
  2. Make it easy for junior developers to write robust and resilient data integrations.
  3. Standardize previously unstandardized (and often confusing) data.
A little about our tech stack:

  • AWS
  • CloudFormation/Terraform
  • Kubernetes/Istio
  • js/TypeScript
If you’re an ambitious reliability-oriented engineer who plays well with others AND can say yes to all of these statements, we are looking for you!

  • If you could dress up as anything for Halloween, you’d dress up as the open-closed principle.
  • You are a doer. Whether you are coming up with projects that align with our vision or helping others do the same, you are doing it proactively.
  • You understand how to design software and systems that are maintainable, robust, easy to understand, and capable of scaling. You also know that not every solution needs to be over-engineered.
  • You should be able to debug technical issues, even if the issue isn’t from “your code” or “your system”.
  • You don’t reinvent the wheel every time you build something new.
  • You can explain complex ideas in plain and simple language (most of the time).

Your qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a site reliability engineer (or equivalent). Must understand things like caching, web scraping, exponential backoff, serverless, and rate limiting.
  • Professional experience working on backend API code (Node.js/TypeScript preferred but not a hard requirement). Familiarity with defensive coding practices a must!
  • Experience working with serverless functions.
  • Experience with application metrics using StatsD/Prometheus/etc.
  • Experience managing on-call rotations and responding to support incidents.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience designing and building APIs.
  • Experience working on a scrum team in an agile environment.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and performing code reviews.
  • (Preferred) BA/BS degree in computer science/software engineering.
  • (Plus) Experience with AWS.
  • (Plus) Experience with technical documentation.

Frontend Engineer

Ingles 10 days

Headquarters: Brooklyn
URL: https://yourparade.com

Parade is growing! We are hiring another remote, full-time frontend developer to join our Digital team as we continue to rewrite the American underwear story.

As a front-end developer, you’ll build innovative e-commerce digital products to provide our community with a seamless and fun shopping experience. You’ll do much more than just write code - you’ll be an integral part of the entire digital product development process, from ideation through delivery and iteration.

You’ll work on our Digital team, made up of folks across growth, design, and engineering, to drive our business forward and bring Parade to hundreds of thousands of people across the United States over the next year. This role reports to the Head of Engineering and will work closely with both them and our current engineer.

Our Stack & Process:
New frontend projects typically start with a set of Figma designs, coupled with detailed interaction notes, which we’d hand off to you. You’ll take these and turn them into live code on a weekly cadence. We value good software and believe in nimbleness as a defining characteristic of our success.

Our storefront runs on Shopify Plus, so you should be comfortable with Liquid templating and generally know your way around Shopify theme development and deployment. Strong HTML, CSS, and JS skills are a must-have. You should also be comfortable doing performance optimization on the frontend (and it’s a bonus if you’ve also previously optimized Liquid code.) It’s also important to have experience collaborating on complex, multi-developer projects.

It’s also a plus if you’ve ever worked with (or are comfortable building) Ruby on Rails apps -- we have a custom backend that powers a bunch of missing Shopify features, as well as supports our Product and Community teams’ internal processes; you’d periodically be helping ship features there, too. We typically operate on a one- to three-week sprint cycle, but are not overly dogmatic and prioritize opportunities to impact the business day-to-day.

Role & Responsibilities:
This is a fully-remote, full-time position. We’d start with a paid sample project, building a hypothetical new feature for our live storefront, as well as doing some brainstorming exercises around how you think about product. We’re mostly in LA and NYC, so at minimum you should be able to be available for a chunk of time during Eastern Time working hours. Ideally you’re someone who has always worked remotely, are comfortable communicating over Slack and email, and can self-manage your time and priorities.

Required Experience:
- You have 4+ years of web development experience in E-Commerce, with at least some Shopify experience
- Strong JavaScript development skills and understanding of new ES6 concepts
- Expert knowledge of CSS/SCSS and implementing web animations
- Experience with integrating front-end frameworks like React with Shopify
- Knowledge of build tools like Webpack and Babel for web performance and optimization.
- Strong design instincts and enjoys working collaboratively with a team of designers
- A commitment to creating readable, clean, and well documented code

Very Nice to Have:
- A website or a portfolio
- Experience with Shopify Plus, Storefront API, GraphQL, and Ruby on Rails
- Experience with headless architecture
- Experience managing projects end to end

React Native Lead Developer

Ingles 10 days

Headquarters: Singapore
URL: http://www.getbravely.com

If you’re an experienced React Native developer who is passionate about mental health, startups, and working remotely — we’ve got the job for you.

We don’t believe in being stuck in a boring 9-to-5; clocking in and clocking out. We believe that a job you love is a job worth doing. We work with purpose and meaning — for ourselves, and for our users.

Bravely
is a small, young startup building a mental health solution that is desperately needed today (especially for 2020). We give people the ability to (a) track physiological factors that influence mental health, and (b) access evidence-based, therapy methods & psychology knowledge that is currently only found in dry, boring textbooks.

We’ll have fun, learn as we go, and build something we’re excited by. This is a chance to create something with the potential to help millions around the globe. We want someone we trust to join us in the driver’s seat, helping to steer Bravely towards its mission.

What working with us looks like:

  • We’re young, but ambitious — It’s still very early days for Bravely, but we know it’s the start of something epic. We know it’ll take hard work and learning to get there, but we’re absurdly passionate and stubbornly determined to build something that will help people around the world.
  • We’re always learning— Products never succeed in a silo. They’re only successes when they’re in the hands of people, and they don’t want to let go! We strive to always be learning; be it new research studies, constant user feedback, or a new design methodology.
  • We value teamwork & collaboration— They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it also wasn’t built alone. We work together, not apart in silos.
  • We value initiative —We’re not looking for mindless drones! The business is in everyone’s hands, not the select few. If you’ve opinions or feedback, we want to hear it.
  • We’re remote & flexible — We don’t believe in rigid work schedules or the old-school management method of watching your every move (rolls eyes). We don’t compromise on the things that matter (our values, our mission and our users), but we leave a lot of the rest up to you (your hours, your attire, etc.). The position is fully remote, so you have the flexibility to be wherever you need to be.
  • We value taking care of your mental health — It goes without saying that we value good mental health for everyone on the team. To quantify that: taking mental health days is not only allowed, but expected. Our flexible working policy means you’re free to schedule a therapy session for yourself in the middle of your work day, or arrange for your work day to fit around your needs.
  • We have fun too! — Work takes up way too much of your life to not have fun while working. We work hard, but we make sure we’re creating a healthy, friendly and fun work environment too. Team culture is something we never lose sight of.

What does the right person look like?

This is for the role of lead developer. You’ll be in charge of leading the development of the Bravely app together with designers and researchers.

You’ll have had prior experience building mobile apps with React Native. Any experience with leading the development of a product in a startup will be highly valuable. Any experience with psychology, therapy or mental health will also be helpful, but not necessary.

You should be responsible, proactive, and organised, with a personal belief in constantly improving and iterating. We want to explicitly state that you can be of any nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation or religion. The only requirement we have is for you to be open-minded and tolerant of anyone different to you. And if you’re the type to share funny video alongside thoughtful articles, we welcome you with open arms!

Bravely is fully bootstrapped. We’re on the lookout for someone to join us in the important lead developer role for SGD 5k / month. We aim to give vested stock options to our early founding members.

What skills and traits are we looking for?
  • A strong background of at least 3 years working with React Native. Experience with React on web would be ideal, but mobile is the definite priority.
  • Experience as a lead developer on digital products.
  • Someone who believes in user-research and design-led products.
  • Familiar with startup minded businesses — specifically with being lean, agile and to expect iterations with continuous user feedback.
  • Ability and ambitious to one day lead a development team.
  • Possession of a clear, organised workflow, who writes clean, well-maintained code.
  • An awesome attitude + no ego + team-player (no lone wolves).
  • Constantly learning and sharing knowledge + seeks out, appreciates and also returns feedback.
  • Experience with working remotely is ideal but not necessary.

How to apply

Apply by sending us an email at mel@getbravely.com. Please include a cover letter, portfolio, résumé as well as a quick video to introduce yourself and tell us why you want to join the team. We’re really excited to meet you! 🙂

Senior Tech Support with a love of email, writing, and details

Ingles 10 days

Headquarters: Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
URL: https://zsa.io

Support is important. Exceptional tech support can be a superpower for a small business. That's why we need you.

About me

Hi, I'm Erez. I'm the guy behind ZSA, a small independent company that's been making high-end ergonomic keyboards for years. We make the award-winning ErgoDox EZ, the Planck EZ, and the Moonlander.

Professionals rely on our keyboards to get work done day in, day out, without pain and with maximum efficiency. When they buy one of our keyboards, they know we'll be there for them for years to come. We offer a comprehensive two-year warranty, but we build relationships with our customers that last long after that.

Our support is entirely email-based. We wrote a little ode to email right on our site. Shopify interviewed me about why support is so important to us.

When most people read "support", their eyes glaze over. They think about call centers, about being on hold for hours, and about a faceless company reassuring them with a recorded message just how very important their call truly is.

We don't do things like that. This is where you come in.

About you

You're a nice person. A kind individual. Not a rockstar or a ninja — just someone who's pleasant to work with.

You're someone who understands that support can be different — that it needs to be different.

Support isn't a stepping stone for you. You're not after a quick gig in support while you study up for another career. You get the value of deep knowledge and empathy: Support is a destination.

You understand just how important details are, in support and in life. You take the time to read every email. You never get an email from Johan and reply back with a "Hi John". You don't ask the same question twice in a long thread.

You don't shy away from taking executive decisions as you work. Yes, there are procedures, but judgment is above all else. You can look at a situation, ask the right questions (not too many, not too few) and do what's right for the customer.

Maybe you've never done support before, and that's okay: Experience isn't required here, just the right person. You may or may not be a total keyboard nerd — and that's okay, too.

You're looking for a fully remote role, in a company that's been 100% remote from day one. You don't need a system that pays you by the hour and counts your every minute. Bonus if you're comfortable working during North American daytime hours.

Sounds interesting?

If you made it all the way here and this sounds like a good match, let's get the ball rolling. I don't want to see your CV or a cover letter. Our hiring process is based on a series of questionnaires, possibly followed by one or more interviews. We are only able to advance a handful of candidates to the next step, but I personally review incoming applications right from the first stage.

Let's do this! Apply here.

Kiko builds real estate tools and housing infrastructure for the internet. We’re helping small landlords and the world’s biggest companies to rent out their properties in a few minutes online anytime, from anywhere.

We are for the rebels, the supportive, the impatient, and most of all, the obsessively user-focused. A culture built for builders and doers - people with unrelentingly high standards who inspire others to do more and go further.

We're never satisfied with the status quo and unapologetically driven by pushing the boundaries of the possible.
